Since, I don't know what style you are using, I'll give you some guidance to both APA And Turabian (Chicago style).

APA:

First, the signifigance of DOI (digital object identifier) is similiar to our social security number or a fingerprint. It identifies the online journal aritcle and guarantees its identity should a journal change its name. There is a good description from a blog on the APA website that I will share with you. It gives you examples of where to look for it in the article and how to use it in a citation.

This is another example of using APA citation style:
